CHRISTMAS PROGRAM FOR SILVER STARS
NOVEMBER 11, 2018
DECEMBER 13, 2018
DECEMBER 5, 2018
The Cypress Winds Clarinet Quartet is pleased to announce the winning composition in our first annual clarinet quartet Composition Competition. One winning composition and one honorable mention composition were selected from twenty-five entries.
We have selected Joel Hobbs’ “Tales from the Forest” for Eb, Bb, Alto, and Bass Clarinet.
Receiving honorable mention was “Dawn Chorus” by Lynn Blake John for three Bb Clarinets and Bass Clarinet.
Judging was difficult due to the many excellent compositions submitted. We were so encouraged by the quality of the compositions that we wish to continue to solicit original compositions for our ensemble. Look for future announcements for our next contest.
